Refurbishment of Existing Veneers
Malformation of the enamel layer from birth resulted in rough patchy discolouration of this patient front teeth. After having the teeth layered with an older generation of veneers, the time had come to refurbish the chipped and stained restorations.
Careful removal of the existing stained and chipped veneers was completed, alongside professional tooth whitening and cutting edge ceramic veneers to maintain a healthy natural appearance.
Tooth on tooth Wear
We often take for granted just how much abuse our teeth are subjected to on a daily basis. From acidic drinks, to nuts and tougher grains, it is an expectation that we will eventually see our teeth wear.
For this patient, we intervened through the use of composite bonding, completed without the need for any injections and in a single 45min session.
Better yet, by intervening at an earlier stage we were able to keep the restorations small, meaning we should expect a longer lifetime than had we intervened at a later date whereby larger restorations would be needed.
A Jutting tooth
An avid tea drinker with excellent oral hygiene, this patient was keen to address the jutting tooth towards her lower left side and tidy up the general appearance of her teeth.
In addition there were existing failing dental restoration which were replaced, including restoring her chewing function on the right side with an implant.
Upgrading an existing Crown, whilst closing the interdental space
Having had an accident as a child, this patient had one of her upper incisors crowned over 30 years ago.
Here we elected to carefully remove the existing crown and replace it with a ceramic crown. In the process, we also reduced the dark triangular space through the use of composite bonding on her other incisor.
In doing so, we ensured healthy tooth tissue was not further sacrificed whilst also giving this patient the natural appearance she longed for.
